If you were to take a look at all of my accessories, the main color you would notice is the color GOLD! It could be from growing up in the 90's, and being in awe of bamboo earrings, bracelets, and rings inspired by aunty Yvette. Seeing how she maximized the beautiful color within her outfits inspired me, and until this day, my love for gold never stopped. Once I heard about the solid gold exhibit, I knew that this was something I had to experience in person, and you will want to as well!

To maintain the gold theme, I wore this beautiful handcrafted bag I purchased from TJMaxx as well as the hat, gold hanging earrings, and gold sparkly slides from Old Navy. For the scent of the day, I wore the Langston Perfume from Harlem Perfume Co. I paired this with a thrifted vintage Teddy Coat, a cream long scarf and the MVP red lip from Fenty Beauty. The look was perfect for the day and the beautiful gold pieces I was going to see at the Brooklyn Museum.

The Solid Gold Exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum features a beautiful display of over 500 works of fashion, art, film, music and design. As you enter the space, you will notice the beautiful gold works of accessories, dresses, shoes, jewelry, and some pieces worn by celebrities. I loved how they incorporated the actual items from photo shoots and fashion shows. Just in the first room alone, I spent 20 minutes really absorbing all of the amazing works of art. You will see beautiful fashion pieces from: Anna Sui, Christian Dior, Demna, Gianfranco Ferré, Giorgio di Sant’Angelo, Halston, Mary McFadden, The Blonds, Walter Van Beirendonck, and Yves Saint Laurent. You will also see amazing beautiful jewelry pieces from jewelry by Alexander Calder, Belperron, Cartier, Charles Loloma, Jacob & Co, and Verdura and grillz by Gabby Elan. The works of art were beautiful beyond what I can share - absolutely stunning.

Every room was like a different golden surprise, you have to plan a visit to feel the aura of the wonderful masterpieces. I highly recommend that when you plan your visit, give yourself about 2 hours to really take everything in, and to also read the history all pieces. Trust me, you will want to explore every piece of art, as each setting shares a different story and the strong impact and input of gold. The adult tickets are $25 and the exhibition will be available until July 6, 2025. There are also great restaurants near the area that you can enjoy to make this a full Brooklyn day. I loved my visit at the soul food restaurant Cornbread, and would recommend their fish dinner with their yellow rice, mac and cheese and their famous homemade signature drink - Uptown (mix of lemonade and iced tea).

Don't delay on witnessing all of the gold beauty for yourself! There are plenty of pictures I am sure you will capture while there. The Brooklyn Museum always curates very captivating, fresh, and historic exhibitions, this is just one added to the list. I am curious about the pieces that will be on display this year. Even if you make this a solo date, take time to enjoy what you already are - GOLDEN!
