When I first set foot inside Printemps, I was struck by its extraordinary charm. This newly unveiled fashion destination in the heart of New York, radiates elegance and style, making it the perfect backdrop for a photoshoot and a grand experience. My excitement soared when the team graciously allowed me to shoot in their stunning store! Since this is a new luxury destination with a growing number of guests, I wasn't sure if this would happen! I am so grateful that the team understood my creative direction and admiration for the art and intention of the space. Printemps, which translates to 'spring' in French, opened its doors on March 21—the first day of spring; it couldn't be more fitting.The store embodies the fresh and vibrant spirit of the season, and as I walked through its doors, I was immediately captivated by the original mosaic tiling from 1931, a magnificent detail that has been carefully preserved. This architectural masterpiece, designed by Laura Gonzalez, resonates with the essence of timeless beauty.
An Experience Beyond Shopping
What truly sets Printemps apart is its slogan: "not a department store." This statement embodies the French savoir-faire that fills the air. At Printemps, it’s not merely about transactions; it's about crafting an experience like no other. The layout guides visitors through a journey filled with luxury, style, and sophistication.
The design encourages exploration, inviting guests to immerse themselves in a wealth of handcrafted goods and exquisite collections. For example, the perfume section is an olfactory journey, featuring exclusive fragrances, each curated to evoke emotion and nostalgia. Visitors can spend hours entranced by unique offerings that go beyond fashion—they discover an entire lifestyle that celebrates elegance.
During my visit, I enjoyed a fantastic lesson on their wine and champagne selection from their talented sommelier, Charmaine. Her passion transformed each tasting into an art form. Among the highlights was a tasting from their signature selection known as Atmosphès. This exquisite wine presents delightful notes of pear, yellow sweet apple, lemon meringue, and creamy undertones. I truly enjoyed the sweet yet smooth texture and would recommend that you also try this as well.
